Ground Off
Overview
Ground Off is a command for ungrounding the selected component in an Inventor assembly and removing any color overrides set by the Ground On command. This tool helps restore components to their normal state after modifications or constraint adjustments.
It is good practice to ground components you do not want to shift while modifying adjacent connected parts. Once all modifications are complete and there are no constraint errors, you can use Ground Off to unground the components and return them to their original appearance.
How It Works
- Launch the Ground Off command from the Configure panel.
- Select the component to unground.
- The component is ungrounded and any color overrides are removed.
Usage Instructions
- Open your assembly in Inventor.
- Click the Ground Off button in the Configure panel.
- Select the component to unground.
- Verify the component is no longer grounded and its color is restored.
Troubleshooting
- If the component remains grounded, ensure it is not locked or constrained by other relationships.
- Check for conflicts with other appearance overrides.
- Verify that the component was previously grounded using Ground On.
Examples
- Unground a part after editing: Use Ground Off to restore movement and appearance after making changes.
- Remove color overrides: Automatically clear any color set by Ground On when ungrounding.
- Prepare for constraint testing: Unground components to test new constraints or relationships.
